About BACKWOOD
How it all started
BACKWOOD is a small Web Company that offers bespoke websites and print branding to a diverse range of clients. The company bounced into the mainstream search engine as a product of the collaboration between Web Developer James Russell and Creative Anna Gover. Together they have accumulated a fair number of years experience in their respective fields and after working on a number of projects together in the past, the time eventually came when they decided to join forces and use their combined powers for good.
BACKWOOD is an enterprise based in the West Country which focuses all it's attention on the needs of the client. Unlike many SMEs in the Web Design Industry, BACKWOOD will never pawn a client off with a prefab template website or pull an old unused logo out of the pot and stick a name on it. Whatever is created it is designed from scratch, tailor-made with that one client in mind. If that means developing a new piece of software to allow a website to function differently to another, extra care and attention will we paid to make sure it happens.
BACKWOOD is not a multinational corporation with a hierarchy of power hungry associates and staff who suck the company dry by pulling sickies at the cost of the clients. It is a humble unpretentious hub of creativity whose efforts are always focused on the job at hand.
Due to the nature of this set up, overheads at BACKWOOD do not exceed shoulder height. This allows project estimates to remain as they should be, reasonable and fair. There are no sneaky added costs tacked on here and there behind the backs of unsuspecting customers.
"Why BACKWOOD?" I hear you ask..
Over the years it became an unintended trend that James and Anna would end up collaborating
on many projects together whilst at the time living in different countries to one another, more commonly different continents. They would both discuss the technicalities of a project online in the early hours of the morning. One hooked up to a dodgy connection in an Egyptian oasis, the other attempting to fend off rogue sheep in the darkest depths of the Somerset countryside.
Their results continued to receive great reviews and it was about that time it became apparent that you could be located in the back-end of no-where, it didn't matter so long as you had ideas, creativity, and
an innate talent for code..
..and Broadband is always handy.
